SF Central Shops
San Francisco, CA
This project involves the adaptive reuse of a privately-owned building most recently used for food storage and distribution to convert it into a functional light duty repair shop for city-owned vehicles, from standard passenger sedans to larger ladder trucks. We worked to coordinate the interests of San Francisco Central Shops and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (owner of the site from which Central Shops is relocating) with the private building owner and developer. The completed space will incorporate upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, structural supports, and accessibility points to bring the building into compliance with San Francisco’s Building Code and the ADA, in addition to qualifying for more stringent LEED-gold certification.
