Parvathy brings her strong visualization skills and passion for design to the team at WDA. As a Project Architect, she embraces the responsibility to create thoughtfully designed spaces that fit their environment while enhancing social interaction.

With a Bachelor’s in Architecture and minor in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Parvathy is drawn to the interdisciplinary nature of architecture. During her education, she took part in a research project that focused on applying origami forms to design structures for disaster relief. Later on, she studied for a year at the Danish Institute of Study Abroad and worked in Copenhagen afterwards. The level of craft and artful minimalism of Scandinavian design is an influential factor in her aesthetic.

Outside of the office, Parvathy enjoys life drawing and discovering new music at live shows and concerts.

What is one of your favorite design-focused places?
Saint Joseph’s Art Society in San Francisco. It’s an inspiring space with a unique collection of art/furniture, and I’ve enjoyed the cultural events that they host.
Who is an architect or designer, living or dead, that you admire?
Payal Khandwala, the Indian fashion designer. Her clothing designs are so sculptural. She incorporates traditional Indian fabrics into modern, nonconformist shapes. It’s a unique aesthetic which resonates with me and my identity.
