We are proud to announce we placed on the San Francisco Business Times’ 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies list for the second year in a row. Companies who made the list were ranked by percentage growth in revenue from 2018 to 2020.
The SFBT article’s author Ahalya Srikant notes, “this year’s list is just a little more special. The 2021 Fast 10 cohort epitomizes the perseverance of Bay Area companies to thrive and adapt amid a challenging economic climate marked by a pandemic and widespread closures and business restrictions.”
Companies who placed on the list were asked the following business-related questions. Here is a recap of what our Founder & Managing Principal William Duff had to say:
San Francisco Business Times (SFBT): Does your company promote a diverse workforce at all levels? Give us a few examples.
William Duff (WD): Absolutely. We promote diversity in many ways. We pay attention to it when hiring and connecting staff with projects, and we are actively engaged in understanding ways that we can get better at diversity through our DEI+I group and in educating our whole workforce about it.
SFBT: Why do you choose to stay in the Bay Area?
WD: The Bay Area is my home. This is where I put down my roots. I really appreciate everything the Bay Area has to offer – there’s a wide variety of landscapes, buildings and people. As an architecture firm, I think there’s still a fantastic amount of opportunity we can tap into with amazing clients and the capacity to do great work. I don’t expect things to always be rosy or perfect here but every time you doubt the Bay Area, it comes back stronger in a new form – in a new way. That energy, culture and vibe keeps me here.
SFBT: What strategy did you use to succeed during the pandemic?
WD: We made sure we took care of our people first. That put us in the best position to take care of our clients and our projects.
SFBT: Are you planning to hire in the next 12 months? If so, how many new employees do you plan to hire, both inside and outside the Bay Area? At what positions are you hiring (e.g. marketing, software developer, etc.)?
WD: Yes, we’re planning to hire 7-8 people, all inside the Bay Area, in the next 12 months. We are primarily looking for architects, but one position would include an IT/BIM Manager.
