Born In Paris, France, and raised in the countryside of Portugal, Sebastien brings an international background to WDA. He earned his Master’s in Architecture from Universidade Lusiada. A transformative year abroad at Università Iuav in Venice, Italy, ignited his passion for adaptive reuse, urban design, and sustainability. After graduating, he briefly worked in Porto and then returned to Lisbon where he honed his skills through a diverse range of projects, spanning from restaurants to single-family houses, either as part of a studio or later in his own practice.

Drawing inspiration from the simplicity and elementary nature of Portuguese Architectural traditions, he firmly believes that ingenious design can improve quality of life with minimal intervention or resources. He is committed to conceptual, context-driven architecture, while also acknowledging that contrast can be a catalyst for revitalization and transformation.

Outside of work you can find him making electronic music or enjoying it at the nearest live event. He loves to explore the city, perpetually in search of hidden culinary gems.

What’s been your proudest professional moment or accomplishment so far?
Every time a client or a user loves the space you designed.
Why?
Making people happy and improving people’s lives is the main goal of Architecture. When you see the joy in people’s faces, you can’t help but feel proud.
